FALL WALK!

Last week, the students used the ipads to capture photos of the Fall season.  We walked over to the park and explored the wooded area.  Students were examining trees, leaves, tree stumps, bugs etc...  and were eager to share their findings with the class. A BIG thank you goes out to our parent volunteers!  Here are a few snapshots of our exploration...

We have also started an inquiry on pumpkins!  Many of the students are having fun examining our pumpkins at the science station.  Next week, we will begin investigating our theories to try and answer our wondering  "why are some pumpkins small and others are big."

Just a reminder that this upcoming week we will be raising money for The United Way.  Students are asked to donate a loonie or toonie for the events.

PATTERN FISH

We have been very busy making patterns.  The children created an ocean scene of patterns after reading the story "Pattern Fish."  They tried to make colour patterns, shape patterns and size patterns as they experimented with crayon-resist painting.  Can you find the patterns?
